Featured Project
Working Knowledge has been contracted by Uniland Development Company to install a full telecommunications cabling package for a new Embassy Suites in Buffalo, NY. The project itself is a redevelopment of a 15-story, 400,000 square foot former federal office building in Buffalo which was acquired by a joint Uniland-Acquest partnership through a General Services Administration (GSA) on-line auction.
Working Knowledge’s scope includes the installation of a full communications cabling package for the first seven stories of the building which is to be an Embassy Suites. Working Knowledge will be installing close to 1 million feet of cable including CAT5e, CAT6, RG6, RG11 and Fiber Optic to facilitate voice, data and CATV services throughout the hotel.
The installation includes all IDF and MDF build-outs including ladder racking, relay racks, backboards, sleeving, coring and conduit systems. Working Knowledge will be cabling all guest rooms, administrative areas, back of house and public areas to accommodate the latest in technologies including video streaming, video projection, both wired and wireless connectivity, HDTV, etc.
Working Knowledge has been on-site for six months roughing in cable and conduit systems and has recently begun outfitting the MDF and IDF’s. Final termination, testing and certification will occur with the next two months as the projected opening date is July 1, 2009.
Throughout the lifecycle of this project Working Knowledge has assigned a dedicated Project Manager to the project whose duties have included staffing, safety, coordination with other trades and material requisition.
Working Knowledge has worked closely with representatives of the owner, foremen of other trades and the brand’s HSIA coordinators to ensure a 100% complete and accurate installation.
The conclusion of this project will mark the 35th hotel/hospitality project Working Knowledge has successfully completed across eight states in the last two years.
